What It’s All About
As the leading Jewish leadership program for teens in the Atlanta area, Atlanta Council BBYO is uniquely poised to significantly impact the future generation of Jewish Atlantans through quality Jewish experiences for teens. By providing Jewish experiences that are both meaningful and fun to over 720 Atlanta teens in 9 -12th grade, BBYO helps to make Judaism relevant and real at a pivotal time in young peoples’ lives. Recently, teens have indicated through surveys and testimonials that Jewish music fosters meaningful prayer moments and helps to develop their Jewish identities.
Atlanta Council BBYO strives to implement a more focused and comprehensive Jewish music and prayer initiative by incorporating professional Jewish musicians/song leaders into all convention programming. This will foster a collective Atlanta Jewish teen identity by bringing professional Jewish musicians to conventions to help teen leaders develop more meaningful prayer moments, and further incorporate Jewish music and education into chapter programs by providing teen leaders at the chapter level with professional Jewish music mentors and training. It would also create a stronger desire for teens to continue their participation in meaningful Jewish experiences coordinated through BBYO at the local and international level.
